Registration Deadline: College Round-Up 2010

THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THE COLLEGE ROUND-UP HAS PASSED. THANK YOU!

Last year, At-Large Councilmember Kwame R. Brown escorted approximately 100 District students to the College Round-Up in Tarboro, North Carolina (Watch the video below). It was a successful day with most students being accepted to one or more colleges on the spot.  The deadline for registering for this year’s trip is fast approaching.  The last day to register is Saturday, February 27, 2010.

The College Round-Up is an annual college fair organized by founder Bob Whitehead and Program Director Fay Smith.  Over 30 historical black colleges and universities gather annually at Edgecombe Community College for the College Round-Up. The event is a flagship program designed to help underserved and underprivileged students obtain a post-secondary education at HBCUs by helping with the selection, admissions, and financial aid process.

For the third straight year, Councilmember Brown will host FREE bus rides to the College Round-Up for students who live in the District of Columbia.  This year’s trip will take place on Saturday, March 13, 2010. It’s an all day trip starting at 4:oo a.m.

How do I register a student for the FREE College Round-Up trip?  You must tell us about yourself by completing the following form.  Once the form is complete, click “Submit” and you’ll be directed to a page where you can register each prospective student.

REGISTRATIONS COMPLETED AFTER SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2010 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  SPACE IS LIMITED.
