Kwame Leading Jobs Discussion in DC

In case you missed it, Kwame has been focusing on new ways to create jobs and get District residents back in the workforce.  Check out these stories:

Kwame, Named New Chair of Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments,  Groundbreaking Report Released

The Washington Business Journal wrote a story about Kwame being named the new chair of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.  Read their article here.IMG_4067.JPG

The same day he was named chair, the COG Workforce Competitiveness Taskforce released a groundbreaking report.  The Washington Post wrote an in-depth article about the report.  The report, titled “Closing the Gaps to Build the Future,” is about how to ensure economic growth without leaving behind our least advantaged citizens.  Read the Washington Post article here.  For more information, including the text of the report itself, see our earlier post.

Kwame In Talks With Northrop Grumman to Bring Jobs to DC

Washington Examiner columnist Harry Jaffe considers the District’s bid to bring Northrop Grumman to DC.  Kwame says, “We have a real shot at making this happen” and has joined negotiations to attract the company.  It’s a part of his ongoing effort to relocate major companies to the District including Costco, CoStar and others.  Jaffe’s column is titled “D.C. has a real shot at bringing Northrop to town,” and can be read on the Examiner website here.
