Willie Jolley - An Inspiration

The goal of Saturday’s workshop is to educate participants on the methods of applying for financial aid both locally (DC OneApp) and nationally (FAFSA).  Participants will hear from college prep experts, advocates and college graduates to help students navigate the financial application process.

In addition, all students who are registered for the annual College Round-Up tour are invited to attend.  Each year, Councilmember Brown hosts a free bus trip to North Carolina for high school seniors to apply to historical black colleges and universities.  Saturday’s financial aid workshop will help students understand what steps are needed to pay for college upon acceptance to an institution.  Participating students, parents and guidance counselors will have an opportunity to address any questions and concerns about the trip. College Round-Up participants are strongly encouraged to to bring a signed copy of the parental permission form to the workshop.
