Councilmember Kwame Brown took time to attend the One World Education (OWEd) celebration, honoring the class of 2010 Student Ambassadors. The OWEd celebration and fundraiser was held at the Josephine Butler Park Center in Ward 1. One World Education and is a non-profit dedicated to improving learning and literacy.

In the interest of public safety, I have informed my staff that our office will be closed on Monday and that they should concentrate on clearing the walkways in their neighborhoods and not risk attempting to come into work. I strongly urge Mayor Fenty to reconsider any attempts to open the Government on Monday before giving residents adequate time to dig themselves and their neighbors out from this historic snow event.
