There are a number of events around the city to celebrate the 96th annual African-American History Month. This is a round-up of events from our blog and from other sources.
The Washington Post has a good list of interesting regional events here.
The brand-new Northwest One Community Library is hosting several events as well. Read more about them here.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is having an art exhibition and reception, and has also scheduled a whole month’s worth of well-known speakers. Read more here.
About.com has a good list of events, although there is a slight overlap with the Washington Post article.
ANC Commissioner Sylvia Brown (@anc7c04) made additional recommendations: African-American History Month Public Programs from the Historical Society of Washington
